Tamara - Kordadze
The Georgian pianist Tamara Kordzadze was born in St. Petersburg. She received her first piano lessons at the age of five from her mother Natalia Sikharulidze. When her family moved to Tbilisi (Georgia) she studied at the “Tbilisi, Z. Paliashvili Music Gymnasia” as a student of Dodo Tsintsadze. Starting at the age of six she has been giving annual concerts both as recitalist and as soloist with different orchestras. Her first performance with an orchestra took place at the age of seven, when she performed the Bach d-minor piano concerto with the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra. She appeared as a soloist in Europe, Russia and Georgia.
Tamara Kordzadze is Prizewinner of numerous competitions, included 1st prize and special “Classic Sonata” Prize at the International Piano Competition “Konzerteum” (Greece); Music Recitals Competition in Georgia; 1st medal and special “Debussy Prelude” Prize at the Porto International Piano Competition; 2nd prize and special “Critics Prize” at the International Piano Competition “Domenico Sarro” (Italy); 1st Prize at the “Landolt Competition” (Switzerland).
Studied with Prof. Manana Doidjashvili at the V. Saradjishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire where she received her Bachelor, Master and Assistant Intern Diploma. With support of the Foundation “Lyra” She continued her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts in the class of Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov, where she received her soloist diploma. During her studies she completed her pianistic education with master classes given by Dimitri Bashkirov, Eliso Virsaladze, Paul Badura-Shkoda, Vladimir Krainev und Rudolf Buchbinder. She received the annual Honorary Prize awarded by the President of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze to Talented Young Georgians, as well as scholarships from Georgia Ministry of Culture, Stanislav Neuhaus Foundation, Charity Program “New Names” – Moscow.
Chamber music plays an important role in her concert activities and repertoire. With her partner violinist Philip Draganov she developed an intensive concert activity in the last years, gives concerts joining various ensembles across Europe. The “Draganov duo” makes music regularly in extended formation (Piano trio, Piano quartet or Piano quintet).
Apart from the activity as solo pianist Tamara Kordzadze passes on her experiences as Piano solo and Chamber music faculty Dozent at the “International Music Week Montepulciano“ (Italy) and the “Artesono” music camp (Switzerland). She is teaching a piano class at the “Youth Music School of Pfannenstiel”, at “The First Russian Music School (Switzerland)” and at the “International School of Zug and Luzern”, where she also gives music theory classes.
Miss Kordzadze is founder and president of the Association “Vivace”, a Music association supporting Georgian children and adults.
